Solar PV Engineering Governance / Technical Assurance (EPC Oversight)

Contract role based in Bengaluru for a Solar PV engineering governance/technical assurance professional to act as an independent technical review and approval authority for EPC solar projects. The person will review and approve detailed design documents (layouts, GA drawings, construction methodology), validate MMS and foundation designs (loads, safety margins, constructability), perform BOQ analysis, support FAT/vendor inspections, and ensure compliance to IS/IEC standards across key equipment (modules, PCS/inverters, transformers, BESS containers), with strong focus on quality, compliance, and risk mitigation while coordinating with OEMs/EPCs/internal teams.

What You'll Be Doing.

Provide engineering governance, technical validation, construction assurance, and EPC oversight support for Solar PV projects.

Will be part of a team acting as an independent technical review and approval authority supporting project execution teams.

Solar PV: plant layout, foundations, mechanical structures, earthing & lightning, pooling substation, and power evacuation.

Experience in solar plant engineering and construction.

Hands on experience with FAT procedures, vendor inspections, and technical approvals.

Strong experience with EPC projects, and renewable energy standards.

Review & Approve detail design documents like plant layout drawings (solar array, wind turbine layout, substations, pooling stations), general arrangement (GA) drawings, Installation principles and construction methodology documents

Review vendor technical evaluation reports (TER)

Validate compliance of Modules / PCS / Inverters, Transformers & BESS containers

Strong coordination and communication skills with OEMs, EPCs, and internal teams.

Ensure detailed review oriented with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and risk mitigation.

Knowledge of IS Codes & IEC standards, Survey drawings & topography.

Essential

Required Qualifications

Solar PV plant engineering and construction knowledge (layout, foundations, structures, earthing & lightning, pooling substation, power evacuation)

EPC project experience and EPC oversight/construction assurance mindset

Detailed design review and approval (plant layout drawings, GA drawings, installation principles, construction methodology)

MMS (fixed tilt and tracker) design review/validation

Ability to verify design calculations (wind load, seismic, dead loads) and validate assumptions vs site conditions

Foundation design review (pile/RCC/MMS systems) and constructability/safety margin checks

FAT procedures knowledge and hands-on exposure to vendor inspections/technical approvals

BOQ analysis

Vendor technical evaluation/TER review

Compliance validation against IS Codes and IEC standards

Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and test reports

Coordination/communication with OEMs, EPCs, and internal teams with focus on quality/compliance/risk mitigation

Nice to Have

Experience reviewing wind turbine layout/substation/pooling station layouts (as referenced in design documents)

Knowledge of survey drawings and topography interpretation

Exposure to procurement processes for solar plant equipment

Experience validating BESS container compliance (beyond basic checks)
