Senior Software Architect (Defence / C4I / Battle Management)
Senior hands-on Software Architect to own end-to-end architecture and delivery of mission-critical defence/shipboard software products, with proven experience on Battle Management Systems, Combat Management Systems or C4I platforms. Convert operational and system requirements into software requirements, interface specifications and verifiable architecture.

Lead the integration of military sensors, RF, EOIR, Radars, communication equipment with weapon interfaces and other platform subsystems.

Design distributed, real-time and fault-tolerant applications for command, control and situational-awareness systems.

Establish software architecture principles, coding standards, interface standards and engineering processes.

Ensure bidirectional traceability between system requirements, software requirements, design, source code and verification results.

Prepare and review Software Development Plans, Software Quality Assurance Plans, Interface Control Documents, Verification and Validation Plans and software release documentation.

Solid Understanding of STANAG, DEF STAN, IEEE and NATO interoperability requirements.

Support software safety assessment, hazard analysis, design assurance and preparation of certification evidence.

Architect the integration and deployment of machine-learning models within operational software.

Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews and technical risk assessments.

Required Qualifications
Battle Management Systems (BMS) and/or Combat Management Systems (CMS) and/or C4I platforms experience
Hands-on architecture ownership for mission-critical defence software products (requirements through deployment)
Integration of military sensors/effectors/communications/platform equipment into operational software
Interface Control Documents (ICDs): interpret, develop, implement for subsystem integration
Distributed, real-time, fault-tolerant application architecture (command/control/situational awareness)
Requirements engineering and conversion of system/operational requirements into software requirements and interface specs
Bidirectional traceability across requirements, design, code and verification results
DEF STAN 00-55 and DEF STAN 00-56 practical experience
IEEE/ISO/IEC 12207 software lifecycle processes experience
Verification & Validation planning and execution; qualification and customer acceptance evidence
Software Quality Assurance Plans and configuration management plans; certification documentation
STANAG / NATO interoperability requirements understanding
Programming in C++ and/or Java or C#; working knowledge of Python
Linux-based development: system services, process management, performance optimization
Multithreading, concurrency, IPC, deterministic data processing
Network programming: TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, serial communication, message-oriented middleware
Secure coding: authentication, authorization, encryption, audit logging, cybersecurity hardening
High availability: redundancy, failover, health monitoring, graceful degradation
ML model integration into production: CV/detection/classification/tracking/decision-support; controlled fallback behavior
ONNX model conversion and optimized inference; deployment on GPU/edge platforms
