Senior Python Developer / Health Data Engineer needed to build hospital EHR/EMR integration pipelines that extract consented patient data, pseudonymize it, and standardize it into the OMOP Common Data Model for regulatory-grade use. The role is hands-on Python + SQL for ETL/ELT, clinical code mapping (ICD-10, LOINC to OMOP vocabularies like SNOMED-CT), data quality validation (multi-dimension checks, reconciliation, audit trails), and master patient index (MPI) identity resolution/deduplication across multiple hospital systems. Strong healthcare domain experience with Epic/Cerner (or similar), knowledge of HL7/FHIR, and comfort debugging messy real-world hospital data are required; GxP/data governance exposure is preferred.

Hospital data integration pipelines: Extract consented patient EHR data from European hospitals → pseudonymize → standardize to OMOP CDM

Data quality validation framework: Implement 16-dimension data quality checks ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance for FDA/EMA submissions

Healthcare Domain Expertise (Non-Negotiable)

5+ years working with hospital EMR/EHR systems (EPIC, Cerner, or similar)

Python + SQL: Advanced proficiency for ETL development, data transformation, and validation logic

Academic health informatics or biomedical informatics training

Experience with oncology, immunology, or clinical research datasets

Exposure to clinical trials data or pharmaceutical research

Knowledge of European hospital systems or GDPR compliance

Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Azure Data Factory, etc.)

Generic data engineers with only cloud platform experience

Candidates who've only worked with clean, structured datasets

Required Qualifications

Healthcare domain expertise with hospital EMR/EHR data (Epic, Cerner, or similar)

Hands-on OMOP CDM mapping and transformation (e.g., PERSON, VISIT_OCCURRENCE, CONDITION_OCCURRENCE, DRUG_EXPOSURE, MEASUREMENT)

Clinical coding systems: ICD-10, SNOMED-CT, LOINC

Python (advanced) for ETL/data transformation/validation

SQL (advanced) for data transformation and validation

Data pipeline development for scalable ETL/ELT (pandas, PySpark, or similar)

Data quality validation frameworks (schema validation, referential integrity, reconciliation, null handling, profiling)

Master Data Management / MPI: patient identity resolution, entity matching, deduplication, golden record

Healthcare data standards: HL7 or FHIR or EDI

Cloud data infrastructure experience (AWS or GCP or Azure or Oracle Cloud)

Git-based version control workflows

Ability to debug complex, messy real-world hospital datasets (missing values, coding inconsistencies, schema variations)

Documentation for transformation logic, lineage, validation rules, and audit trails
