Senior Data Center Network & Virtualization Engineer (Cisco ACI / VMware NSX-T)
Senior contract role supporting global data center operations and migration projects, working on a standardized architecture with Cisco ACI underlay and VMware NSX-T overlay. The engineer will troubleshoot physical-to-virtual networking interactions, operate VXLAN and routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), contribute to design/deployment/operations, and automate infrastructure tasks using Terraform and Python. Hybrid working is required (minimum 2 days onsite) with Lisbon preferred (Madrid considered). Fluent English is mandatory; Portuguese is required for Lisbon-based candidates.

Essential
Required Qualifications
8+ years data center networking experience
VMware NSX (especially NSX-T) operations and troubleshooting
Cisco ACI (or comparable data center networking technology) knowledge
Understanding of network architecture and physical-to-virtual network interactions
Troubleshooting across physical and virtual network layers
VXLAN
OSPF
BGP
Routing protocols (general)
Infrastructure automation with Terraform
Automation/scripting with Python
Fluent English
Ability to work onsite at least 2 days/week
Strong communication skills; collaboration with international/distributed teams
Preferred
Nice to Have
Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNP Data Center, CCNP Enterprise)
VMware NSX / VMware networking certifications
Large-scale data center migration experience
NetDevOps experience
Experience working across multiple global data centers
