Senior Android Developer / Tech Lead (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose)

Contract role in Stockholm to lead and build a new Android-based software platform for police vehicles. You will design and develop Kotlin Android apps from scratch, own architecture and technical choices, and work end-to-end across the lifecycle (requirements to release/management). The assignment includes establishing strong engineering practices (agile, CI/CD, Git), collaborating with UX and backend, and delivering secure solutions (authentication, secure communication). What You'll Be Doing.

Lead and contribute to the development of a new Android-based software platform for the police car.

Design, develop and further develop Android applications in Kotlin.

Responsible for and contributing to architecture, technical choices and development principles.

Work with the entire development lifecycle, from requirements and design to implementation, testing, release and management.

Collaborate closely with UX, backend developers, and other mobile developers to create cohesive and user-friendly solutions.

Work closely with the business to understand operational needs and translate these into technical solutions.

Contribute to establishing and further developing development and delivery processes, including CI/CD.

Work with secure communication, authentication and other security-related aspects of the Android solution.

Identify technical improvement areas and drive initiatives that increase quality, security, stability and pace of development.

Contribute technical expertise and guidance to other developers and, if necessary, take a leading role in the development team.

Business travel within Sweden may occur.

Have relevant post-secondary education in IT, or equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority deems equivalent.

Required Qualifications

9+ years system development experience (within last 10 years)

9+ years working in agile development environments

5+ years Android development with Kotlin

Built Android applications from scratch (architecture, technical choices, implementation)

Android Architecture Components (lifecycle management, navigation, core components)

Jetpack Compose

CI/CD (3+ years)

Git version control

Secure communication, authentication, and Android security considerations

Very good Swedish (oral and written)

Swedish citizenship

Experience implementing/establishing Android development in an organization

Solution architecture and writing technical solution proposals
