SAP S/4HANA MDG Technical SME – Senior Technical Consultant / Technical Lead

Lead end-to-end technical design and delivery of SAP MDG solutions for SAP S/4HANA transformation and global rollout programs.

Translate functional and governance requirements into technical designs, development objects, integration specifications, estimates, and delivery plans.

Design, enhance, and extend standard and custom MDG data models, entity types, relationships, reuse areas, staging areas, and generated structures.

Develop MDG enhancements using ABAP Objects, BAdIs, enhancement spots, user exits, custom classes, function modules, BAPIs, and application-specific APIs.

Implement BRF+ validations, derivations, decision tables, rule-based workflows, agent determination, dynamic approvals, and complex change-request logic.

Design and enhance MDG user interfaces using Floorplan Manager, Web Dynpro ABAP, UI Building Blocks, feeder classes, context configuration, and Fiori/UI5 or OData services where applicable.

Configure and develop Data Replication Framework solutions, including replication models, filters, outbound implementations, key/value mapping, SOA services, ALE/IDocs, APIs, and middleware integration.

Design integrations between SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ERP, and non-SAP applications using SOA Manager, web services, OData, REST APIs, IDocs, CPI/PI/PO, or other approved middleware.

Support mass processing, consolidation, duplicate-check, search, data-quality, migration, and distribution scenarios across MDG domains.

Lead technical unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, defect resolution, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and production stabilization.

Serve as primary SAP MDG Technical SME for customer, solution architects, and program leadership.

Own technical architecture, build standards, naming conventions, reusable frameworks, code quality, peer reviews, transport governance, and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications

12–15+ years of SAP technical experience with hands-on SAP MDG technical leadership

Multiple full-lifecycle SAP MDG implementations, including S/4HANA transformation, greenfield, conversion, or global rollout

SAP MDG data and process modeling, change requests, and extensions to standard and custom data models

ABAP Objects development, BAdIs, enhancements, user exits, debugging, and performance optimization

BRF+ rules, validations, derivations, workflow, agent determination, and complex change-request logic

MDG UI development with FPM, Web Dynpro ABAP, feeder classes, and applicable Fiori/UI5, CDS, OData, and SAP Gateway

Integration and replication using DRF, SOA Manager, ALE/IDoc, services or APIs, key/value mapping, and middleware such as CPI/PI/PO

Master-data process knowledge across relevant domains such as Material, Business Partner, Customer, Supplier, and Finance

Technical architecture and delivery leadership, including design, estimation, standards, code review, documentation, and stakeholder coordination

Testing, troubleshooting, transport and cutover readiness, go-live, hypercare, and production stabilization

Experience with MDG-M, MDG-BP, MDG-C, MDG-S, MDG-F, and custom-object implementations across multiple domains
