RPG / IBM i (AS400) Legacy Modernization Developer (WMS, APIs)
Contract role in Nantes (occasional remote) to modernize a Warehouse Management System (WMS) on IBM i/AS400. The developer will analyze and retro-document existing RPG and COBOL code, leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate understanding, and participate in re-urbanization of the legacy architecture to support new mobile use cases. Carry out the retro-documentation of the application heritage: understand the programs, the processing, the management rules and the dependencies.

Leverage AI / GitHub Copilot to accelerate the understanding and documentation of existing code.

Participate in the reurbanization of the WMS, i.e. evolve the architecture and exchanges of the historical system to meet new uses.

Rewrite existing COBOL / RPG programs into Free RPG (Free-Form RPG).

Develop the APIs necessary for the interfacing between the WMS and the Forklift mobile application.

Adapt existing treatments so that they can be consumed by a mobile application.

Carry out the associated developments and technical documentation.
