Lead Data Modeler
Lead Data Modeler (5–10 years) needed in Bengaluru for a permanent role to design and maintain conceptual/logical/physical enterprise data models and database schemas. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in both Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, excellent SQL, and deep knowledge of ER modeling, normalization/denormalization, constraints, and performance tuning (indexing/partitioning/query tuning). Design and maintain Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models.

Translate business and technical requirements into scalable data models.

Design database schemas, tables, relationships, keys, constraints, indexes, and views.

Develop and optimize data models for SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, normalization, and performance.

Collaborate with Architects, Developers, Data Engineers, BAs, and stakeholders.

Support database migration, modernization, schema evolution, and integration activities.

Perform database performance optimization, including indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.

Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, lineage, and modeling standards.

Provide technical leadership and mentor junior team members.

Required Qualifications
5+ years in data modeling, database design, or data architecture
Hands-on Microsoft SQL Server
Hands-on PostgreSQL
Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals
Conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling
ER modeling (ER diagrams), entities/attributes, relationships
Normalization and denormalization
Keys, constraints (PK/FK/unique/check), referential integrity
Database schema design: tables, views, indexes
Database objects: stored procedures, functions, triggers
Performance tuning: indexing, partitioning, query tuning
Data integrity and consistency
Experience with data integration/ETL/ELT and enterprise data architecture
Data modeling tools (one or more): Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, Visio, Lucidchart
Collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders; communication skills
Technical leadership/mentoring (lead role)
