Lead Data Engineer / Data Platform Architect (Digital Performance Data)
Contract role in Paris (hybrid; on-site Mon/Tue mandatory) to design and deliver a centralized, historized data platform for a global portfolio of brand websites. You will assess multiple digital performance data sources (SEO tools, web analytics, server logs), define and defend the target architecture and data model within a central data governance framework, size and lead a small delivery team, and build hands-on ingestion, transformations, and data access with strong engineering standards (data quality, testing, documentation, Git, CI/CD). Fluent English is mandatory; French is a plus.

Define, document and defend the target architecture and data model; obtain central data team approval

Size the delivery team (number and profiles) and share a staffing plan within the first 3 to 4 weeks

Build hands-on and lead a small team across ingestion, historized model, transformations and data access

Apply engineering standards: data quality, testing (SIT/UAT), documentation, Git, CI/CD

Hand over an operational platform with a clear run model (ownership, support, monitoring, maintenance)

Essential
Required Qualifications
7+ years of data engineering experience
End-to-end design and build of at least one data platform or data mart
Data architecture definition and documentation
Ability to defend architecture within a central data governance framework and obtain approval
Data modeling for historized/time-variant data (historization)
Data ingestion from multiple sources (APIs/files/logs)
Data transformations/ELT/ETL
Data access layer design (querying/serving data)
Workload estimation and delivery planning
Team sizing and defining required profiles
Leading a small delivery team (hands-on lead)
Engineering standards: data quality practices
Testing practices including SIT/UAT support
Documentation practices
Git version control
CI/CD for data pipelines/platform
Preferred
Nice to Have
French language
Large corporate experience (consumer healthcare, CPG, or pharma)
AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Experience with digital performance datasets (SEO, web analytics, server logs)
