Generative AI Engineer / Expert / Tech Lead (Software Development Enablement)

Contract role in Niort (occasional remote) to accelerate adoption of generative AI for software development, qualification/testing, documentation and maintenance. The consultant will identify and qualify high-value GenAI use cases, run POCs/pilots, support developers in advanced GitHub Copilot usage, design and implement Copilot Agents, formalize best practices, measure productivity/quality gains, and lead workshops/demos in close collaboration with the Product Manager, PSI and engineering teams. Strong software development lifecycle culture and mandatory training/awareness on AI use and risks are required; Microsoft/GitHub Copilot experience is highly valued.

We want to accelerate the use of generative Artificial Intelligence technologies for our design, development, qualification and maintenance activities.

We are looking for an AI Engineer / Expert / Tech Lead applied to software development F/M capable of experimenting, structuring and demonstrating the value of AI uses within our teams.

The mission is part of a logic of pilots and proofs of value and in close collaboration with the shipyard's Product Manager, the PSI, as well as with developers and experts in the field in order to identify the most relevant use cases, implement concrete experiments and measure the gains obtained.

The mission will be carried out until the end of the year, with the possibility of extension depending on the results obtained.

Identify and qualify opportunities for the use of generative AI on design, development, acceptance, documentation and maintenance activities (In collaboration with the site manager)

Carry out experiments, POCs and pilots to concretely evaluate the value provided (In collaboration with our developers and desktop publishing designers)

Measure the gains obtained (quality, productivity, deadlines, user satisfaction).

Ensure an active watch on the evolution of AI technologies applied to software development.

Work closely with the Product Manager and PSI to prioritize initiatives and guide future investments.

Required Qualifications

Strong software development background and SDLC knowledge

Generative AI applied to software engineering (use cases across design, development, testing/acceptance, documentation, maintenance)

POC/pilot experimentation mindset (ability to turn ideas into demonstrators)

Ability to support/coach developers on advanced usage of AI coding assistants

Ability to formalize methods, best practices and feedback (documentation/synthesis)

Ability to measure and report gains (quality, productivity, lead time, user satisfaction)

Workshop facilitation, demos and knowledge sharing

Collaboration with Product Manager/IT stakeholders to prioritize initiatives

Training/awareness on AI usage and risks (mandatory)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot

Experience designing/implementing Copilot Agents (or equivalent agentic assistants)

Knowledge of Microsoft Copilot ecosystem
