Functional Acceptance Test Engineer (Manual + Automation Prep)
Contract role in Lyon (occasional remote) for an experienced functional/acceptance tester to validate compliance of IS changes (new features, fixes, evolutions) against specifications. The consultant will write functional acceptance scenarios (including cross-application/end-to-end tests), set up user test environments, prepare/validate test data, execute manual functional tests and produce test reports, analyze anomalies with stakeholders, maintain the test repository, and prepare scenarios that will be automated. Strong testing strategy fundamentals, automation strategy understanding, and Agile ways of working are required; team stack includes Java/Spring Boot, Angular, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Cassandra, Jenkins, Ansible, Tomcat, and JGiven.

Essential
Required Qualifications
5+ years experience in acceptance testing / functional testing
Manual testing strategy and execution (functional/UAT)
Writing functional acceptance test scenarios (including cross-functional / end-to-end across applications)
Test planning and reporting (test reports, batch execution)
Agile fundamentals (working in Agile teams)
Test data preparation/support (datasets)
Defect/anomaly analysis and follow-up with stakeholders outside the team
Test repository maintenance (test cases/catalog)
Understanding of test automation strategy and ability to prepare scenarios for automation
Preferred
Nice to Have
Experience with automation frameworks/tools (e.g., JGiven)
CI/CD exposure (e.g., Jenkins)
Basic understanding of Java/Spring Boot and/or Angular application behavior for testing
Familiarity with distributed systems components (Kafka)
Familiarity with data stores/search (Cassandra, ElasticSearch)
Experience with environment provisioning/configuration tooling (Ansible)
Experience testing on app servers/runtime (Tomcat)
