Expert Cloud Automation Developer (Azure Platform Engineering)

Contract role in Lisbon (occasional remote) for an expert-level Cloud Automation Developer to design and deliver reusable Azure platform products for an enterprise self-service cloud platform. The work blends Azure cloud architecture, Terraform/IaC, CI/CD, security/governance, API/platform integrations (GitHub, ServiceNow, identity), and hands-on full-stack development (backend REST APIs plus web UI). The client is looking for a senior profile (typically 10+ years) who can code and build platform automation products end-to-end, not someone focused only on Java development, only infrastructure architecture, or only DevOps pipelines.

Automated CI/CD workflows to build, validate, package, and deploy infrastructure and application changes consistently across environments.

Automated functional, regression, and deployment tests for software, APIs, infrastructure modules, and deployed cloud services.

Security and governance capabilities integrated into delivery patterns, including identity and access management, policy enforcement, secrets handling, and auditability.

Operational readiness built into delivered solutions, including monitoring, logging, alerting, documentation, and support or handover materials.

Technical designs and implementation guidance that promote reuse, maintainability, and adoption by platform and application teams.

Recommendations and implemented improvements that reduce manual effort, operational complexity, and time required to deliver cloud capabilities.
