Data Privacy Specialist (Privacy, Compliance & Governance Operations)

Hire a Data Privacy specialist for Mumbai (BKC) to run privacy compliance monitoring and governance operations across DPDP 2023, ISO 27001, HIPAA and related audit controls. The role will conduct PIAs/DPIAs, manage DSARs, maintain ROPA/data inventory and data-flow maps, support incident response, and embed privacy-by-design into SDLC. The person will act as a technical bridge between legal/compliance and engineering, help implement privacy-enhancing technologies (pseudonymization/anonymization/encryption), and produce tracking/reporting and management dashboards.

Monitor and coordinate to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations –DPDP 2023, ISO 27001, HIPPA,Internal Audit, CFR 21,ITGC – Support GMP audit

Tracking, Reporting, Follow-up and presenting Management Dash boards.

Responsibilities not limited to above and aligned with organisations and department’s deliverables.

Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Proficiency in languages like Python, Java, or SQL,API integration. Familiarity with cloud platforms.

Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) preferred.

Experience in data governance frameworks and tool eg Data Discovery, Data Ageing and retention, Data Segregation, Consent management System, Cookie Consent

GRC tools and software, Risk assessment and management, Regulatory compliance, Internal audit, Policy development, Analytical skills, Communication skills, Problem-solving, Project management

Required Qualifications

Privacy compliance monitoring and governance operations

Knowledge of DPDP 2023

Knowledge of GDPR

Knowledge of CCPA/CPRA

Knowledge of ISO 27001 (privacy/security controls alignment)

Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) and Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA)

DSAR handling (access, deletion, portability) within timelines

ROPA (Record of Processing Activities) maintenance

Data mapping, data inventory, and data flow mapping

Privacy by Design in SDLC

Incident response support for privacy incidents/data breaches

Hands-on understanding of encryption and access control systems

Ability to translate legal/privacy requirements into technical specifications

Programming/query skills in at least one of Python, Java, or SQL

API integration basics

Familiarity with cloud platforms

Policy development/updates for privacy policies, retention schedules, and data handling procedures

Training and awareness delivery for privacy obligations

Tracking/reporting/follow-up and management dashboards
