Data Migration SME / Data Lead (D365 F&O Retail)

Contract role in Malmö for a data Subject Matter Expert leading market-level data activities for a retailer during transition from legacy systems to a new digital retail platform. The consultant will own the market data plan/roadmap and lead extraction, transformation, cleansing, loading and validation, ensuring alignment with global data governance and rollout timelines. Requires strong stakeholder management, data consulting background with leadership experience, and proven ERP/data migration delivery with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (preferably retail). Hands-on capability with SQL and Power BI is expected; experience with Microsoft data transformation tools (e.g., ADF) and AI-enabled transformation is a plus.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing.

Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all data-related activities in the assigned retailer market.

Lead the data extraction, transformation, cleansing, loading and validation efforts to support the transition from legacy systems to the new digital retail platform.

Collaborate with local stakeholders to understand market-specific data landscapes, regulatory requirements, and operational nuances.

Ensure alignment with global data governance standards and rollout timelines.

Monitor data quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

Provide regular updates to program leadership on data readiness, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Serve as the primary data liaison between the central program team and local market teams.

Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build local data capabilities and ensure knowledge transfer.

Extensive of experience in data consulting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience in ERP/data migration projects with D365 F&O, preferably in retail environments.

Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Essential

Required Qualifications

Data extraction, transformation, cleansing, loading (ETL/ELT) and validation

ERP/data migration project experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O)

Data governance fundamentals and alignment to global standards

Data quality management (metrics, monitoring, corrective actions)

Master Data Management (MDM) concepts

SQL (hands-on)

Power BI (hands-on) or similar BI tooling

Stakeholder management and communication (liaison between central program and local market)

Data consulting experience

Leadership experience (at least 2 years in a leadership role)

Planning/roadmapping for market-specific data activities
