Data Integration Engineer (Healthcare Interoperability / HL7)

Contract Data Integration Engineer to support European deployments of a clinical decision support platform for hospitals. The role focuses on configuring, testing and validating interfaces between hospital systems (EHR/LIS/Pharmacy) and the platform (notably HL7 v2.x; FHIR is a plus), ensuring semantic/technical standardization, and providing commissioning and post-go-live support. What You'll Be Doing.

Configure, test and validate the data interfaces between the hospital systems and the platform (e.g. HL7)

Ensure semantic and technical standardization of incoming data flows

Collaborate with project teams, hospital customers and technical partners

Participate in the validation, commissioning and post-deployment assistance phases

Write technical specifications

Contribute to knowledge transfer workshops and global harmonization activities

Provide support to other regions when needed

Excellent knowledge of hospital information systems (LIS, Pharmacy, EHR, etc.)

Mastery of interoperability standards: HL7 v2.x (HL7 FHIR ideally)

Software integration experience in a customer environment

Minimum 5 years of development in at least one modern language (C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++ or equivalent)

Essential

Required Qualifications

Healthcare systems integration / interoperability experience (5–10 years)

Strong knowledge of hospital information systems (EHR/EMR, LIS, Pharmacy systems)

HL7 v2.x interface configuration, testing, and validation

Software integration in customer/hospital environments

Development experience (5+ years) in at least one modern language (C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++ or equivalent)

Ability to understand, maintain, and evolve existing codebases

Structured and semi-structured data handling (XML, JSON, CSV, flat files)

Relational database skills: SQL, SQL Server, query optimization

Troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical problems with high autonomy

English proficiency for documentation and international meetings

Experience with commissioning/post-deployment assistance in hospital settings

Experience writing technical specifications for interfaces/integrations

Experience contributing to knowledge transfer workshops and harmonization activities
