Data/Analytics Platform Lead (Starburst/Trino)
Contract Platform Lead/Senior Platform Engineer to build, run and improve a production data/analytics platform (ideally Starburst Enterprise/Trino/Presto). Experience as a Platform Lead, Technical Lead, Senior Platform Engineer or equivalent, including technical leadership of a small engineering or support team.

Strong experience operating containerised applications on Kubernetes using Helm, YAML configuration and Docker images.

Experience leading incident resolution, root-cause analysis, operational change, release management, version upgrades and infrastructure or dependency patching.

Practical knowledge of AWS, RDS, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, monitoring and production operations.

Proficiency in Python, SQL and YAML for automation, troubleshooting, configuration and platform administration.

Experience working directly with external technology vendors, including support escalation, defect management, upgrade planning and technical roadmap discussions.

Demonstrated ability to produce concise, decision-oriented service updates, incident communications, technical proposals, runbooks and stakeholder briefings, with clear outcomes, owners and next steps.

Demonstrated experience coaching engineers, improving team practices and building shared ownership through documentation and knowledge transfer.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
