Administer and manage Amazon EMR clusters including provisioning, scaling, upgrades, patching, configuration, performance tuning, capacity planning, and production troubleshooting.

Manage production Spark, Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, YARN, Tez, and Hive Metastore environments supporting large-scale data processing workloads.

Optimize Spark workloads through executor sizing, memory tuning, dynamic allocation, shuffle optimization, partitioning, and resource utilization analysis.

Troubleshoot complex Spark job failures, HDFS storage issues, YARN resource constraints, Hive query issues, and EMR cluster failures.

Design and manage EMR Instance Fleets/Instance Groups, Managed Scaling, Spot/On-Demand capacity, and auto-termination configurations.

Plan and execute EMR version upgrades and platform migration activities, including compatibility assessment and post-upgrade validation.

Administer and optimize Amazon Redshift, including query performance, WLM, schema utilization, storage management, data loading, locking, and capacity planning.

Support Snowflake environments including data loading, warehouse sizing, SQL/query optimization, storage management, and operational troubleshooting.

Manage Apache Airflow environments, including DAG scheduling, monitoring, failure troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.

Collaborate with data engineering teams to support ETL/ELT pipelines using Spark, Airflow, Redshift, Snowflake, and AWS services.

Design, deploy, and manage Amazon EKS clusters, including cluster upgrades, node groups, scaling, networking, and troubleshooting.

Manage Kubernetes workloads including Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and RBAC.

Hadoop ecosystem operations: Hadoop, Hive, HDFS, YARN, Tez, Hive Metastore

Production troubleshooting for Spark/HDFS/YARN/Hive/EMR failures

Amazon EKS administration (upgrades, node groups, scaling, networking, troubleshooting)

Kubernetes workload management (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, RBAC)

Kubernetes scheduling concepts (affinity/anti-affinity, taints/tolerations, requests/limits, Pod Disruption Budgets)

Docker and Helm for containerized deployments

CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions or AWS-native tools)

Terraform Infrastructure as Code (modules, state management, remote backends, env configs)

Automation/scripting with Python and Bash

Monitoring/alerting with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana

DevOps practices: Git-based source control, code reviews, deployment governance, production access, secrets management

AWS cost optimization and capacity planning
