Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) Engineer / Administrator
Contract role in Amsterdam for a senior Citrix engineer/admin (10–12 years) to run and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments. The focus is on Windows Server/AD/GPO and PowerShell-based administration, VDI provisioning (MCS and other methods), profile management (Citrix Profile Management/FSLogix), monitoring (Citrix Director, Citrix DaaS, Splunk/UberAgent), patching/upgrades, and application publishing including App Layering. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication are expected.

Required Qualifications
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) administration/support
Windows Server administration
Active Directory (AD)
Group Policy (GPO)
PowerShell
Hypervisor familiarity (VMware and/or Azure)
Profile management (Citrix Profile Management and/or FSLogix)
Citrix monitoring/operations (Citrix Director, Citrix DaaS)
Performance monitoring with third-party tools (e.g., Splunk, UberAgent)
Patching/updates of Citrix components
Citrix App Layering and publishing applications using App Layering
VDI deployment/provisioning using MCS (Machine Creation Services) and other provisioning methods
Troubleshooting and analytical skills
Documentation and communication skills
Preferred
Nice to Have
Citrix Desktop and Applications administration (broad platform management)
Windows OS internals and registry settings
Handling profile-related issues (advanced troubleshooting)
Experience with additional hypervisors beyond VMware/Azure
