BIW Process Planning / Tooling Design Engineer (Geo/Respots/Grippers)
Permanent role in Pune for a 1–3 years Mechanical/Automobile/Production engineer to support automotive BIW process planning and tooling/station concept design. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, coordinating data and ECN changes across teams, supporting BIW design/manufacturing with process inputs, and creating/reviewing 3D/2D models for geo stations, re-spot stations and grippers while following OEM/Tier-1 standards, GD&T and sheet metal manufacturing practices. Exposure to welding line processes (spot/arc), BOP selection, pneumatics and sensors is expected; PLM/Teamcenter and CAD tools (CATIA/Creo/AutoCAD) are preferred.

Study and interpretation of engineering drawings for BIW process planning activities.

Process planning, equipment ordering and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Implementation and tracking of ECN (Engineering Change Notice) activities.

Project and process feedback/feedforward management across multiple teams.

Support BIW design and manufacturing activities with process inputs.

Concept design of Geo Stations, Re-Spot Stations and Grippers.

Required Qualifications
Engineering drawing reading and interpretation
BIW process planning support (Body-in-White)
ECN (Engineering Change Notice) implementation and tracking
Coordination/data management across engineering teams and stakeholders
Concept design knowledge for BIW stations/tooling (Geo stations, Re-spot stations, Grippers)
3D finish model preparation/review and 2D detailing with quality checks
GD&T application (tolerances, material specifications)
Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes
Understanding/exposure to welding line processes and layouts (Spot Welding, Arc Welding)
Understanding of BOP selection and integration elements (pneumatics, sensors)

PLM knowledge and Teamcenter environment exposure
Hands-on experience with TCUA
Hands-on experience with VisVSA
Working knowledge of CATIA
Working knowledge of Creo
