Backup & Recovery Administrator (Veeam + Commvault)

Hire a 5–8 years Backup & Recovery Administrator in Mumbai (permanent) to manage, monitor, and support enterprise backup and recovery environments. The role is hands-on with Veeam and Commvault, covering backup configuration for VMs, physical servers, databases (SQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL) and cloud workloads (including Azure Backup), performing and validating restores, troubleshooting failures/performance/repository issues, and aligning retention/replication with RPO/RTO. The person will also implement backup security controls (immutability/encryption), support DR drills/audits, produce SOP/KB documentation, coordinate with vendors/L3 for RCA, and provide customer-facing incident/change updates and onboarding/migrations.

Manage, monitor, and support enterprise backup and recovery environments using tools such as Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity, and Azure Backup.

5–8 years of experience in Backup & Recovery administration.

Configure and maintain backup jobs for VMs, physical servers, databases (SQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL), and cloud workloads.

Perform and validate backup restorations (file-level, VM-level, application-level) as per customer requests and DR requirements.

Troubleshoot backup failures, performance issues, and repository/storage-related problems.

Ensure backup schedules, retention, and replication policies are aligned with RPO/RTO requirements.

Implement and maintain immutability, encryption, and security best practices for backups.

Coordinate with L3/Vendors for complex issues and provide root cause analysis (RCA).

Participate in DR drills, audits, and compliance activities.

Prepare and maintain documentation, SOPs, and KB articles.

Provide customer communication and technical updates for incidents and change requests.

Support onboarding of new customers and backup infrastructure migrations.
