Backend Node.js Developer (Node 22+, REST APIs, NestJS/Express)
Contract role in Paris (occasional remote) for a proven backend Node.js engineer to design, evolve and maintain robust, secure, industrialized services on recent Node.js (22+). The consultant will build and document JSON REST APIs, implement automated testing and code coverage, contribute to CI/CD and runtime tooling (Git/GitLab, NPM, PM2, Docker/Compose), and collaborate closely with Product/Design/Front/Ops with English documentation. Scope may occasionally include on-call or evening/weekend interventions.

Implement secure, high-performance, and HTTP best practice-compliant JSON REST APIs.

Structure architectures with NestJS, Express, Fastify or Koa according to functional and technical constraints.

Define and maintain an automated testing strategy with Jest, Mocha, Chai, Sinon, Istanbul/NYC and, if necessary, Cucumber/Gherkin.

Document and test entry points with Swagger, Postman, or curl.

Implement or enhance Git/GitLab workflows, NPM tools, and runtime processes with Nodemon and PM2.

Contribute to the containerization of environments with Docker and Docker Compose.

Design or optimize persistence mechanisms with MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Prisma, or TypeORM.

Evaluate and integrate, where relevant, ElasticSearch, Worker Threads, WebSockets, SSE Streams, and Pub/Sub architectures.

Facilitate collaboration with the Web, Mobile, Product, Design and Ops teams, in particular through clear documentation in Markdown or Confluence.
