AWS – IBM DB2 Database Administrator (DB2 LUW)
Hiring a senior IBM DB2 LUW DBA (8–10 years) in Bangalore for a permanent role supporting DB2 on Red Hat Linux. The role covers DB2 installation/upgrade, day-to-day administration, backup/restore and recovery (including redirected restores), performance tuning (RUNSTATS/REORG, db2advisor/db2explain, DB/DBM parameter tuning), data movement (IMPORT/LOAD/EXPORT) and operational monitoring (locks, errors, failed updates). Experience with HADR setup/monitoring (including pacemaker) is required; PureScale is desired. Production support/on-call across time zones and strong Linux/shell scheduling skills are expected; cloud knowledge (AWS) is an added advantage.

Required Qualifications
IBM DB2 LUW administration (DBA)
DB2 installation/upgrade on Red Hat Linux
Strong Linux administration knowledge
Shell scripting and scheduling jobs on Linux (e.g., cron)
DB2LOOK for generating DDL from existing databases/objects
Performance maintenance: RUNSTATS, REORGCHK, REORG
DB2 performance tuning using db2advisor and db2explain
Database/DBM parameter configuration for performance tuning
Data movement utilities: IMPORT, LOAD, EXPORT (high volume)
HADR configuration and monitoring
Backup/restore and recovery including redirected restore
Security administration: user logins/permissions; database security standards awareness
Troubleshooting/monitoring: locks, errors, failed updates; multi-DB maintenance
Capacity planning, space management, and data maintenance
