Automotive Exterior Lighting Design Engineer (CATIA V5)
Design and develop automotive exterior lighting systems (headlamps, fog lamps, tail lamps, DRL, CHMSL, indicators) in CATIA V5, owning concept proposals, packaging/interfaces with master sections, fixation/location schemes, and GD&T with tolerance stack-up/iso-statism. Ensure styling intent, global regulatory compliance, manufacturability (plastic injection moulding, lamp processes, tooling/fixtures), and on-time delivery to customer milestones, with awareness of electronics, photometric and thermal requirements, and quality deliverables like DFMEA/DVP. Coordinate with cross-functional/global OEM teams and manage work allocation/risk escalation as needed.

Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive product engineering experience required specifically in automotive lighting system and component design with a strong preference for experience with the latest lighting technologies like LED, light pipes, and adaptive forward lighting (AFS) systems.

Essential
Required Qualifications
Automotive exterior lighting system/component design (headlamps, tail lamps, DRL, indicators, etc.)
CATIA V5 (including working with PDM / “New PDM”)
Concept development and proposal creation for lighting systems
Automotive packaging and interface definition with master section / customer package requirements
Manufacturability knowledge: plastic injection moulding, lamp manufacturing processes, tooling and fixture design
Fixation and location scheme definition within package constraints
GD&T application including tolerance stack-up and iso-statism principles
Knowledge of lighting assembly parts, functions, and materials
Awareness of global exterior lighting regulations
Awareness of lighting electronics plus photometric and thermal requirements
Quality documentation awareness: DFMEA and DVP
Ability to manage multiple project timelines and deliver to customer milestones
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
