AI & Data Science Strategic Leader / Deputy to Head of AI & Data Science

Senior leadership role based in Kolkata to partner with the Head of AI & Data Science and drive enterprise-scale AI/ML, data analytics, GenAI and intelligent automation adoption. The role owns strategy-to-execution translation (roadmaps, transformation programs, portfolio governance), leads and develops a large multidisciplinary org (80+ across DS/DE/BI/ML/Architecture/PM), and ensures performance excellence, stakeholder alignment, and responsible AI governance across global, matrixed environments.

 Drive enterprise-wide adoption of AI, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Generative AI, and Intelligent Automation.

 Act as a role model and promote organizational culture, values, and leadership excellence.

 Foster innovation and a data-driven decision-making culture across business functions.

 Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of 80+ professionals comprising Data Scientists, Data Engineers, BI Specialists, ML Engineers, Architects, and Project Managers.

Required Qualifications

Enterprise AI/ML and data analytics strategy and transformation leadership

Technology roadmap creation and execution aligned to business objectives

Delivery leadership for enterprise-scale AI, data science, cloud and digital transformation programs

Large-scale people leadership (managing managers; multidisciplinary teams; succession planning)

Portfolio/program management (budgets, governance, KPIs, milestones, risk/dependency management)

Executive stakeholder management (global stakeholders; business case and investment proposal presentations)

AI/Data governance frameworks, operational standards, quality controls, audit readiness

Responsible/ethical AI practices and compliance mindset (info security/regulatory alignment)

Organizational effectiveness, workforce transformation, capability building and engagement

MBA or equivalent master's degree

Experience with Generative AI and intelligent automation adoption at enterprise scale
