Hire an experienced Accounts Manager to lead the Finance & Accounts function for a stock broking organization in Kolkata. The role owns end-to-end accounting operations (GL/AP/AR/bank/cash/expenses), broker-specific accounting (client funds, trading transactions, brokerage/charges), frequent reconciliations across bank/client/broker/exchange/depository accounts, and timely statutory/tax/audit compliance. The candidate should be hands-on with broker accounting software/ERP, strong in financial reporting and controls, advanced Excel, and able to coordinate with auditors, exchanges/depositories, banks, and internal Ops/Compliance/Risk/IT teams.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing.

 Lead and supervise the overall Finance & Accounts function of the stock broking business.

 Manage accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash/bank entries, expenses, and financial reporting.

 Handle accounting processes specific to stock broking and capital market operations.

 Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of client funds, broker funds, trading-related transactions, charges, brokerage, and other receivables/payables.

 Monitor and perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts, client ledgers, broker ledgers, exchange-related accounts, and other operational accounts.

 Ensure accurate accounting of brokerage income, transaction charges, statutory charges, expenses, and other revenue streams.

 Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, stock exchanges, depositories, and other regulatory/financial institutions as required.

 Ensure timely completion of statutory, regulatory, tax, and audit-related requirements.

 Review accounting entries and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and stock market regulatory requirements.

 Manage year-end closing, audit schedules, and financial documentation.

 Support management with financial analysis, budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and other financial information required for decision-making.

 Coordinate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, IT, and other departments to resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.

Required Qualifications

Stock broker accounting processes (client funds, broker funds, trading-related transactions)

Reconciliation: bank accounts, client ledgers, broker ledgers, exchange-related accounts, operational accounts

Accounting operations: general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash/bank entries, expense accounting

Financial reporting and year-end closing support (audit schedules, documentation)

Statutory compliance, taxation, audit coordination

Broker accounting software / broking ERP systems (hands-on)

Advanced MS Excel for financial reporting

Financial controls and accuracy/attention to detail

Cross-functional coordination (Ops/Compliance/Risk/IT) to resolve accounting/reconciliation issues

Team leadership/supervision within Finance & Accounts
